Sierra Community Church

The Lord Jesus' Ministries at Sierra Community ChurchAre you Missing Out?

Sierra Community Church exists to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known to other people.

With our mission statement in mind, the believers in Jesus Christ at Sierra Community Church are working to grow closer to Jesus and to bring others to know Him and to know Him more deeply.  We work to this end in part through this partial list of ministries at Sierra Community Church:

Angel Tree

We supply Christmas gifts for children who have one or both parents in prison.  Our church members buy the gifts for their selected child(ren).  Then our ministry team wraps and delivers the gifts to the homes of the family where the children are living.

Angel Tree

Audio/Visual

This  ministry is what you might call the physical heart of the church.  This ministry is responsible for covering about 75% of all the activities that go  on here at Sierra.  Everything from Sunday services, weddings, memorial services, Kid's Quest, BreakOut and even some Bible studies.  We are responsible for all stage and auditorium lighting, set-up, breakdown, trouble-shooting, and operation of all audio and video equipment.

Children's Ministry
(3 years -- 6th grade)

Sierra’s Children’s Ministry exists to introduce children (ages 3 years to 6th grade) to Jesus and guide them in their spiritual maturity and walk with Him.  We get excited about worshiping, learning, praying, fellowshipping, and playing together in our Sunday classes, midweek programs and special events.

Coffee Team

Coffee Ministry
We prepare coffee for our congregation to enjoy each Sunday morning.  This provides a place for fellowship with one another, as well as some physical nourishment and encouragement to remain for the never-ending spiritual.

Counseling

Sierra Community Church provides a counseling ministry to our members with the primary focus on the truth of the Bible to give us answers to any problem.  We offer individual, couple, and family intervention.  John 16:33 tells us, "in this world you will have troubles, but take heart, I have overcome the world."

Counseling Ministry

Count Team

The Stewardship Ministry has the count teams for accountability.  This is done by counting and recording the funds received with honesty and accuracy, and honoring the confidentiality of those who give to God's work at Sierra Community Church.

Facilities/Maintenance

This ministry is serving God with our gifts and talents in a service that fixes things around the church building.  This may be anything from painting and sheet rock to electrical to finish carpentry.  All for His Glory -- 1 Corinthians 10:31

Facilities Ministry

Food Ministry

Foodline Ministry
The Sierra Community Food Ministry provides a healthy, hot meal and spiritual guidance each Wednesday to those in need in accordance with Deuteronomy 15:11 -- "There will always be poor people in the land.  Therefore I command yo9u to be open-handed toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land."

Greeting Ministry

"Greet every saint in Christ Jesus.  The brethren who are with me greet you." -- Philippians 4:21.  We offer a way to serve the Lord by providing believers with an opportunity to grow in their walk with the Lord.  In this way we can be examples of God's love to our families, friends and to the community.  Greeters arrive 40 minutes before service to greet with a smile or a handshake those who attend Sierra Community Church.

Greeters' Ministry

Hospitality

Hospitality Ministry
It is an incredible privilege to put together special events that give honor to our Lord Jesus!  Leading or being part of the team gives you a great opportunity to make our members feel like family.  If you are gifted in the area of helps and hospitality and would like to contribute in planning food and service for holidays and special events, please join us.

House of Prayer

Wanted:  a whole bunch of God-centered men and women how want to help make our church a House of Prayer.  All are welcome to attend at any time.  No need to feel intimidated.  No one will call on you to speak if you don't feel inclined to do so.  Bring your needs and concerns and pray aloud or agree with others silently.  The Scriptures tell us, "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."  Matthew 18:20
Prayer Ministry

Student Ministries

Student Ministries
Student Ministries aims to instill moral truth and grow spiritual habits through a Christ-centered relationship, while having fun and enjoying the love of Christ along the way.  We are here to reach out to students, to connect them with other Christians, and challenge them to grow.

Tape Ministry

With the cooperation of the Audio Ministry, we take recorded sermons and duplicate tapes and CDs for sale to pass on to relatives and friends the Word of God.

Tape Ministry

Ushers

Usher Ministry
Ushers are a vital part of our Sundays.  We hand out bulletins as we greet folks at the doors, help people find empty seats when they arrive after the worship has started, pass the baskets for the offering and sort and safe-drop the money.  Following the service, we clean up and straighten the chairs for the next service.  Ushers are the welcoming committee and the clean-up crew and a walking information booth, giving directions to the kids classes and bathrooms.

Women's Ministry

Women's Ministries exist to provide encouragement toward a deeper spiritual relationship with God, through obedience to His Word, and into loving relationships with one-another.  We  prepare communion, help with women's baptisms, coordinate dinners for those who are ill or injured, send cards and/or gifts for the ill, injured, grieving, etc.  We also plan and provide luncheons, teas, and retreats, and women's Bible studies.
