We gather together every Sunday to celebrate our relationship with God. We've discovered that God has made a relationship possible through the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Many of the songs we sing and the messages we share during our worship services assume that a relationship with God has already been established. And yet we realize that it is quite possible for someone to join us for worship and not know God in a personal way.
If this is the case with you, may we invite you to enter into that personal relationship today.
Establishing a relationship with God involves:
God is our creator. He created us for relationship with Him. He is holy, righteous and good and we are sinners, all of us. Our sinfulness separates us from relationship with God.
"...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..." Romans 3:23
God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to become a man and to die for our sins. He was resurrected from the dead so that we might enjoy eternal life with God.
"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures..." 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
We must entrust ourselves fully to Jesus Christ and His provision for our sin.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
Dear God:
I really want to know you in a personal way. I recognize that I am a sinner and that my sin keeps from knowing you. But I understand that Jesus, your Son, died to pay the penalty for my sin and was raised from the dead so that I can live eternally with you.
I believe in you. I entrust myself completely to Jesus and what He has done for me. I know now that I am forgiven, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I'm determined now to spend my life growing in relationship with you.
Amen.
